The blind of Jericho

This is the report written by Matthew during the facts, in "Hebrew", and translated by Luke in Greek; he has an official aspect.

Matthew, recomposing the narration together "many", has changed the details in order to be able to her publish again:

- Jesus was not entering, but getting out of Jericho;

- the blinds were two, not one; but both made and told the same things;

- the narration has reassumed.

Mark knew nicely the original narration of Matthew in "Hebrew". He knew how Luke had it transcribed and how the "many people" of Matthew had it "recomposed". He had all the time for talk with the protagonists of the episode. And therefore, since both the books of Matthew had been already published and the document of Luke was already written:

- for make notice that, between the "Hebrew Gospel" and the Greek one of Matthew, there are contradictions only fictitious, he says before "they arrived at" Jericho, then that Jesus "departed" from the city;

- for maintain the historical fidelity to the facts and, in same time, for make recognizable the alterations introduced in the narration by the "many people" of Matthew, he talks again about "one" blind, with his name, so that there are not misunderstandings;

- he reports the dialogue too, like Bartimee remembered, so that he is himself to testify the fact.

«It happened while he drew near to Jericho: a blind had sat down to cadge long the road.

Hearing pass the people, he asked what it is. They reported him:

— He spends Jesus the Nazarene!

Then he shouted:

— Jesus, son of David, have pity of me!

The people that they walked ahead reproached him, so that he keeps silent; but he shouted very stronger:

— Son of David, have pity of me!

Jesus then stayed and ordered that he has conduced beside him. When he was to him near, he asked him:

— What do you want I make for you?

He did answers:

— My Lord, that I recover the sight.

And Jesus told him:

— Have again the sight! Your faith has saved you.

Immediately he saw again and he began follow him praising God. And all the people, to the view of that, rendered praise to God».

Luke 18,35-43

«While they got out of Jericho, a big crowd followed Jesus.

And there that two blinds, sat down long the road, hearing that he spent, they began to shout:

Our Lord, have pity of us, son of David!

The crowd scolded them so that they keep silent; but they shouted still stronger:

Our Lord, son of David, have pity of us!

Jesus, stayed, he called them and he told:

— What do you want I you make?

They answered him:

— Our Lord, that our eyes open!

Jesus was moved, he touched them the eyes and they immediately recovered the sight and they followed him».

Matthew 20,29-34

«And they arrived at Jericho.

And while he departed from Jericho together the disciples and much crowd, the son of Timaios, Bartimaios, blind, sat down long the road to cadge.

He, hearing that there was Jesus Nazarene, began to shout and to tell:

Son of David, Jesus, have pity of me!

Many scolded him for do him keep silent, but he shouted stronger:

— Son of David, have pity of me!

Then Jesus stayed and told:

— Call him!

And they called the blind telling to him:

— Courage! Lift, he calls you!

He, thrown away the mantle, jumped standing and he came at Jesus. Then Jesus told him:

— What do you want I you make?

And the blind to him:

Rabbunì, that I recover the sight!

And Jesus told him:

Go, your faith has saved you.

And immediately he regained the sight and he began following him through the road».
